THE Lancashire League have called a meeting of other leagues in the county to discuss the future of Cricket.
The meeting is due to take place at Haslingden CC on May 22.
It follows the collapse of the Lancashire Cricket Board's proposed Super League. "There will be a general discussion of the future of league cricket and where we see it going," said Lancashire League secretary Rod Slater.
"We are not excluding the LCB but we want to get our ideas together so that we can work hand in hand with them."
The Ribblesdale League, Northern League, Central Lancs League, both Bolton Leagues and the North Lancs League are all expected to send representatives to the meeting.
Three sub-committees will look in detail at the Lancashire League's future following a report from a special working party.
The sub-committees will be split between cricket, development and rules and administration.
A meeting will take place at Rishton on May 14 when volunteers will be asked to sit on the committees.
"There is a feeling within the league that we are moving forward," said Mr Slater.
"Obviously there are voices against change but the overwhelming mood is optimistic."
