A HEARTBROKEN mum has hit out at ghoulish thieves who stole gifts from the grave of her baby daughter.
Little Tonidee Cardwell died from a heart defect in January at just two days old. Since then mum Debbie has made regular visits to her grave at St Nicholas's Church, New Street, Sutton.
On a recent visit, Debbie, who has two other young children, left two small pottery animals, an Easter bunny and a teddy bear, on Tonidee's grave.
But when she returned just two weeks later she was distraught to find they had been stolen.
Now Debbie, from Lakemore Close, Sutton, says she is reluctant to leave any more presents on Tonidee's grave for fear of them also being stolen.
She told the Star: "I can't believe anybody could do this. It's absolutely disgusting. We are terribly upset that somebody could be so callous as to steal gifts from a baby's grave. If they they had to go through what my family has been through, they would know how upsetting this is for us."
