POSTMAN Fred McKenna is appealing to Star readers to help trace a distinctive silver medal which was lost during his town-centre rounds.
The medal, which belonged to Fred's grandmother, Ellen Neilson, is about the size of a 50 pence piece and is imprinted with a Liverbird, the words 'Ladies Gymnastics' and possibly the date, 1908.
Fred carries the medal in his wallet and thinks it was lost in St Helens town centre sometime last week. He said: "I carry the medal everywhere with me and never leave home without it. It has great sentimental value and I am anxious to get it back."
ANYBODY who can help, can contact Fred on 01744 454426.
