ENVIRONMENTALISTS at Groundwork St Helens are planning an 'art attack' on the town with plans for a number of sculptures to be displayed on the roundabouts along the M62 link road.
The aim behind the scheme is to create a positive impression of St Helens to anyone arriving in the town by designing sculptures which convey a sense of awareness and pride in our industrial and cultural heritage. These would be placed on each of the six roundabouts leading into the town centre.
Groundwork St Helens already have money donated by the St Helens Southern Corridor Single Regeneration Budget programme and are now planning to apply for a grant from the Lottery Arts Council.
IF you have any design ideas for the sculptures and would like to get involved, you can contact the co-ordinator, Catherine Cain or Barbara Williams at Groundwork in Shaw Street on St Helens 739396.
