PRINCESS Anne is in Burnley on Monday.
The Princess Royal is coming to town in her capacity as president of the British Knitting and Clothing Export Council.
She will meet some of the staff when she calls at the Rylands Street premises of the garment manufacturers Grenfell, and will be welcomed by Burnley's Mayor, Councillor Arthur Park and the company's managing director Mr David Haythornthwaite.
During her stay Princess Anne will see how coats made at the factory are produced and will unveil a commemorative plaque in the staff canteen.
The Save the Children charity will also benefit from the Princess's visit when she accepts a cheque towards its work from Mr Haythornthwaite.
Before leaving for other venues in the north west Princess Anne will add another page to the firm's history when she signs the visitor's book.
