Lancaster boss Gordon Raynor saw his side bow under relentless pressure of his old club, Guiseley, on Saturday.
City had plenty of chances to get something from the game but they wasted their attacks and the Yorkshire side always threatened to score. Peter Borrowdale especially had chances to secure the points but with defensive blunders gifting the visitors their opportunities, the Blues will be disappointed that they were left with nothing from a hard fought match. The first chance fell to City in the second minute, Borrowdale's through ball found Dobie through on goal only for him to screw the shot wide. The next chance fell to Guiseley and they took it without hesitation. Blackstone approached the area with a quick change of pace and burst into the box taking the ball straight past Jones. Then Tony Key blatantly pushed him over in the penalty area and there was no doubt that it was a penalty. Matthews confidently converted the spot kick with a blast straight down the middle. Lancaster fought back and got a well deserved equaliser just before half hour. Borrowdale made an excellent tackle on the left side of the visitor's box and powerfully drove the ball into the top corner of the net.
The final blow was dealt by Guiseley. Neil Matthews got his second goal when he beat the keeper to the ball from a left wing corner and rifled in a header over the keeper and in the net.
