MANY thanks to readers for information about 'The Ark,' the magazine for all animal-lovers of any denomination. When I asked if any religion had an animal sanctuary, I meant: does the church fund a rescue centre?
There are many groups operating on Christian principles, but they exist on voluntary donations.
The upkeep and the veterinary bills are astronomical, even for small set-ups.
I feel the church really lets the animals down because they do not actually pay for an Animal Rescue. When you consider the wealth of the church, it could help financially the many rescue centres that struggle on alone.
