I SEE millionaires and far right Tories generously giving time and money to warn us against a federal Europe, a single currency, etc. Among my currency is a silver threepenny bit, dated 1925, when I and many of my friends were born. I put the questions over Europe to some of them; Alfred Hull, Val Woodhall and Paddy Muldoon, among others.
None of them replied because they are all dead, most of them ripped to bits by jagged chunks of metal, along with countless Germans, Frenchmen and Italians, etc, in the Second World War, like countless thousands of their fathers' pals in 1914-18.
There are cenotaphs all over Europe and Britain, bearing their names. There are no memorials to all the millionaires who died for king and country.
I think there should be a silver disc, engraved with all their names. They can use my threepenny bit. There will be plenty of room.
