UNION leaders were set to hold crisis talks with management at Royal Ordnance, Blackburn, over fears that the town's biggest employer would close with the loss of 800 jobs. Workers were waiting for an announcement on the future of the plant.
Fears over the plant had earlier been fuelled when the Transport and General Workers Union asked the company for a statement on its future in Blackburn.
