PEOPLE of all ages, from all walks of life, will be covering a mile in any way they choose for the NEXT Macmillion Mile Challenge, sponsored by high street retailer NEXT, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief, between next Saturday Sunday, May 18.
All sorts of miles have already registered. Line dancing a mile is a popular option, with one event involving 2,000 dancers. Old-fashioned Morris dancers will be tapping their sticks while clog dangers clog dance.
Twenty OAPs, with a total age of over 1,000, must be the oldest mile, while toddlers are toddling the youngest mile.
There are miles of coins and knitted miles, sailing miles, dog walking miles and even ferret walking miles.
Last year more than 100,000 people took part and raised nearly £600,000 to help national cancer charity Macmillan Cancer Relief in the fight against cancer. This year we want to raise even more. It's not too late to register. Help us and join in the NEXT Macmillion Mile Challenge.
Participants simply get their family, friends and colleagues to sponsor them £1 for each mile covered as a donation to Macmillan. The week long event aims to raise £1 million to help the estimated one million people and their families living with cancer in the UK today. And it's not too late to register.
Anyone interested in taking part in the NEXT Macmillion Mile Challenge for Macmillan Cancer Relief should call 01372 450070 for further details.
