They ended the season at the top on points difference.
But league rules dictate there must be a play-off to decide the championship - which leaves coaches Mark Wood and John Simpkin having to keep the Twist Lane A team focused for anther three weeks.
They ended the season in style with a 38-4 bludgeoning of Widnes Albion.
Tries from Andy Robinson and Ian Farrington, both goaled by Mick Evans, sparked the romp after solid work by Simon Wood, Phil Carroll, back rowers Shane and Graham Hindley and full-back Darren Pilkington.
A TD from Sean Coleman made it 16-4 at the break.
And tries followed fast after the break from Steve Topping, Evans and MoM Mick Morris.
