TWO brutal thugs attacked a man and robbed him of £50 in St Helens town centre.
The incident took place at about midnight on Friday, April 25 as the 31-year-old victim was walking through a passageway on to Ormskirk Street. He felt a blow to the back of his head and fell to the ground where he was conscious of somebody rifling his pockets.
One of the attackers then kicked the man in the face and they both ran off in the direction of Do-it-all in King Street.
The man managed to flag down a passing police car, and was taken to Whiston Hospital where he received treatment for a broken nose and stitches to his face.
Both assailants were in their 20s and one was described as small with a skinhead-style haircut.
ANYBODY with information about this attack is urged to contact DC McKeon at St Helens CID on 0151 777 6064 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
