A BUSINESSMAN claims he is facing bankruptcy because he is still waiting for an electricity supply six weeks after his company moved into its premises.
Sattar Daneshdjoyanis furious because the lack of power means orders at his rubber moulding firm cannot be completed.
"It is disgusting that this matter has dragged on so long," he said. "My business is going under as a result of all the messing about."
Mr Daneshdjoyan, who employs four people at the industrial unit in Brunswick Street, Darwen, says despite paying £529 plus VAT up-front for work to be carried out by Norweb, workmen have still not connected him.
He added: "It is beyond a joke. I have been forced to get what power I can from the business next door, but if this mess does not get sorted out soon I will be forced to close."
A spokesperson for Norweb explained that payment for the work had not been received until April 22 and that was why nobody had been to see Mr Daneshdjoyan.
She added: "As soon as payment was received we visited the premises but unfortunately necessary excavation work had not been carried out.
"The cabling has been fitted since then but we are unable to fit a meter until the cables have been bonded and meet statutory regulations.
"We will be visiting the site again this week to see if this work has been carried out."
