I EXPECT John Blunt had a nasty shock when the Conservatives were thrown out lock, stock and barrel by the voters countrywide, but one would not have thought it would have unbalanced his mind, poor chap.
Judging by his meanderings in his latest piece (LET, May 7) it evidently has.
Please do not worry too much John, it will be all right, you'll see.
What he should be concerned about as a Tory is the outcome of the dog fight currently taking place in his party, on the question of a new leader now that John Major has quit.
What a problem; to have to pick a giant from half a dozen pygmies.
In this connection, I wonder who gave the arrogant upstart William Hague, the idea that he was made of the stuff necessary to become Prime Minister (eventually) of this great nation?
Now that Britain has moved from stagnation to dynamism, isn't the feel good factor returning?
