COOL Kay Taylor came up with a hair-"razing" fund-raiser to make charity cash for a special care baby unit.
She went for the ultimate sacrifice - the loss of her beautiful locks - in a sponsored head shave.
The idea came after a friend at her husband's pub had a son who was born six weeks prematurely.
Kay set about collecting sponsors for to make money for Blackburn Queen's Park Hospital special care baby unit where the boy received treatment.
"It was a spur of the moment thing," explained game-for-a-laugh Kay. "At first people didn't think I would go through with it, but I proved them all wrong!"
Barber Chandrakant Jetha volunteered to shave off Kay's red locks in front of cheering regulars at The Pump House Hotel, Whalley Banks, Blackburn.
Her husband, Chris said: "She's got the Sinead O'Connor look now and looks great.
"We hope this will be the first of many wild fund-raising events at the pub."
More than £100 is expected to be collected from the event. The shaved hair will be donated to the Christie Hospital, Manchester, to help make wigs for cancer patients.
