GP practice nurses Helen Cooper, Barbara Clarke, Sally Forshaw and Sandra Baxter will be responsible for providing formal induction programmes for new practice nurses in the area.
And later this year they'll be swapping their uniforms for caps and gowns graduating with BA honours degrees in health studies.
The Leigh health centre has been chosen as the only teaching practice for the Area Health Authority's Leigh and Wigan district.
Helen, Barbara, Sally and Sandra will offer guidance and teaching as well as acting as mentors for other nurses from Bolton Institute of Higher Education for diploma and B.Sc courses. They will also offer advice to student nurses on community experience.
