A GRANDMOTHER from Golborne has won more than £52,000 on a bingo game, only days after another bingo regular won a similar amount in Leigh.
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said she is sharing her good fortune with her 45 years-old neighbour with whom she regularly plays at the Gala Club in Wigan.
The winner, 63, who is married with two children and three grandchildren, said: "My friend and I, who have been neighbours for 19 years, the Golborne Girls we call ourselves, always share whatever we win. Our previous biggest win was seven years ago when she won £1,000. We have been playing at the Gala for many years, at least twice a week and more when we can afford it."
She added that she may spend her winnings on buying a conservatory and new carpets, while her friend, who has five children and four grandchildren, is buying new furniture and refurbishing her kitchen.
The jackpot win was made up of a National prize of £47,500 plus a regional prize of £5,265 and a house prize of £21.
