YOUNG sensation Katy Parker took the table tennis world by storm at the sport's world championships in Manchester.
The 12-year-old from Fulwood, near Preston, earned herself an army of new fans when she became the youngest ever English competitor to compete in the tournament last Thursday (May 1).
And the Kirkham Grammar School pupil's achievement made her doubles partner Michael Chan from Guilford seem like an old timer - he is 13!
Katy comes from a table tennis mad family. Her parents Donald and Jill are both former internationals who now coach, and younger brother Adam also plays at a high standard.
