CHURCH look to complete Mission Impossible Two on Sunday when they aim to dump league favourites East Lancashire out of the Worsley Cup.

The Blackburn Road side caused the shock of the season last Sunday (May 4) when they beat the league leaders in a dramatic clash - and now they are looking for a repeat performance.

Chairman Tony Marsden said last weekend's double victory - they beat Ramsbottom on Saturday (May 3) - was a great boost for the club and now confidence is sky high.

He said: "East Lancs are a very good team but just like last Sunday we won't be approaching the game any different to other games. Their pro Billy Stelling is a great player but it would be an insult to the rest of his team mates to say he is their only threat."

Church will be without last Sunday's hero Craig Ferguson, 15, who is away training for his Duke of Edinburgh award.

"Craig is a smashing little player and is one of many young players vowing for regular first team places. We have shown with Craig that if they are good enough they will get a chance to stake a first team place."

Professional Brendan Creevey is beginning to find his feet in the Lancashire League and his unbeaten 71 on Saturday (May 3) proved the Aussie could be ready to make his mark.

Marsden added: "It's good for Brendan to make a decent score because it is his first season in the Lancashire League and it can take a while to settle in."
