WALSHAW High School pupil Amina Latif has proved her flair for creative cooking by reaching the semi-final of a national culinary competition.
She is one of 40 young people to be picked to design a soup with a difference at the Creda Challenge this weekend at Birmingham College of Food.
Amina has already won a cooker for her school by impressing judges with her competition entry - a file which included a soup recipe, costings, research ideas and a photo of the finished dish.
And if she gets through to the final she will receive a certificate and trophy, and a chance to win more cookers and £1,000 worth of kitchen appliances.
