FORMED just six months ago, 'Kicks' mini-soccer school, which is targeted at boys and girls aged five-11, has already attracted more than 250 youngsters onto its books.
Now project founders, coaches Tony Greenall and Ian Smith, have organised a free-admission bonanza day of round-ball fun at UGB, Bobbies Lane, this Sunday, May 11, from 10.30am to 6pm.
And part of the day's proceeds will be donated to Alder Hey Hospital.
Centre-piece will be a five-a-side 'World Cup' tournament, while a host of other activities are planned.
These include coaching demonstrations; visit of Saints' players; Territorial Army assault course; line dancing; aerobics; Millfields fire brigade; live music; bouncy castle and a variety of stalls.
Prizes galore will also be up for grabs, including a super holiday for a family of four in Disneyworld, Florida, which has been donated by Co-op Travel and is valued at £3,000.
Organisers of the forward-thinking 'Kicks' soccer school, the children and their parents are grateful to the following for generous help or sponsorship:
Halifax Building Society, Ford Motors, Dutton James, W. H. Snow (Liverpool), Divert Trust, Foundation for Sport and the Arts, and Channel One television station (Liverpool).
Having sampled the round-ball delights of Sunday's extravaganza, youngsters who wish to hone their soccer skills further can attend Eccleston Mere Primary School each Sunday morning.
