YOUNGSTERS from Hindley's Mornington High performed well in a heat of the 13th annual BT Kiedler Challenge.
The endeavour is an outdoor problem-solving competition for teams of eight teenagers, four with disabilities.
All the teams completed five activities on a communications theme at the day-long heat in North Manchester.
Activities included navigation, a rope maze and an exercise based on plant photosynthesis.
Other teams competing were from Standish, Preston, Formby and Manchester.
Each school was judged on its initiative, ability to work as a team and the active involvement of all members.
Wentworth High (Manchester) won to reach the semi-finals.
