MARTIAL arts enthusiasts intend throw each other for the distance of a mile in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Relief charity.
Eight protagonists, and one reserve in the event of injury, will combine their throwing power at the Academy of Martial Arts in Hammerton Street, Burnley, on Thursday, May 15.
They intend to use rear or rolling ankle throws to cover the 5,250 feet as part of the charity's Mile Challenge and are asking people to sponsor them for £1.
Organiser Michael Carney said: "We decided to attempt something a little different to support the Macmillan Mile Challenge and came up with the idea to throw each other over the distance.
"People can support us by donating £1. We want to raise as much as we can."
