THE incoming mayor's Civic Sunday parade will wend its way through the streets of Oswaldtwistle this weekend.
Coun Maurice Cowell was sworn in as Hyndburn's first citizen at a mayor-making ceremony in Accrington town hall on Thursday night.
The annual Civic Service will be held on Sunday at Immanuel Parish Church, New Lane, Oswaldtwistle.
Led by The Balderstone Brass Band, the procession will start from Havelock Street, behind Oswaldtwistle library, at 9.55am. There will not be a return procession.
Coun Cowell, who is retired, represents St Andrew's ward in Oswaldtwistle.
His wife, Margaret, is to be mayoress.
He is chairman of Hyndburn police and community forum, and of Spring Hill Neighbourhood Watch.
