CLEO, the cat with a taste for narrow escapes, is home at last after her latest escapade.
The three-year-old seal point Siamese went missing over a week ago from owner Liz Emmott's home in Fence and despite a widespread search it seemed she may have run out of her nine lives.
Liz, of Noggarth Road, Fence, put posters on lamp posts, posted leaflets through letterboxes of nearby homes and put Cleo's details in local shops in a bid to find her beloved pet.
Fortunately, Cleo managed to find her way back home in one piece in the early hours of Tuesday morning after an epic journey.
"We have a feeling she may have got into our car when we went to see friends at Quaker Bridge, Brierfield, and then got out there. We had various reports of people having seen a Siamese cat on the route back to our house but no-one could get near it," said Liz.
After a three-mile journey across fields and a busy by-pass Cleo made it home again.
"I couldn't believe it when she walked back in through the door" added Liz. "I'm so glad to have her back. She was fine, but very hungry."
