A BRASS plaque commemorating Helmshore railway has been handed over by Helmshore Residents' Association.
The ceremony outside the station master's old house was attended by Harry Adcock, porter at Helmshore station for 12 years until its closure in 1966.
The plaque has been mounted on the gate post next to the signal box which was rebuilt several years ago and is now a private home.
A hanging basket donated by Noel Broadgate, of Safeguard Financial, has also been put up.
The residents' association, which is promoting Helmshore's entry into Lancashire's best kept village competition, is also inviting young and old to paint or colour the front cover of the competition entry form.
Helmshore Pharmacy, Monks Butchers and Evergreen Florists are offering prizes.
