A TEENAGER has suffered a major setback in the fight to save his shattered leg.
Kevin Hargreaves, 14, has lost a muscle graft implanted in his leg last week by surgeons at Withington Hospital, Manchester.
Kevin, of Mayfield Avenue, Haslingden, was in the operating theatre on Saturday and due to go back in today.
His mother, Mrs Janette Hargreaves, who is with him at the hospital, said: "He has an infection and has lost the muscle graft. We are still hoping, but it's not looking good,."
The Haslingden High School pupil suffered horrific leg injuries when masonry fell on him inside a derelict coachouse.
Mrs Hargreaves said Kevin was depressed, but his spirits had been lifted by a card signed by all his classmates.
She said: "It was a lovely card. He had a little cry over that. He was a bit overwhelmed."
