SADDENED family and friends met to pay their last respects to a brave, uncomplaining ten-year-old who died on May 10.
William Robson, who had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, died at his home in Central Avenue, Oswaldtwistle, after suffering a chest infection.
Mourners attended Immanuel Church, Oswaldtwistle, yesterday for his funeral and accompanied the hearse to Pleasington Cemetery, Blackburn.
A dolphin, William's favourite animal, depicted in blue flowers carried final messages from his dad, Bill, and brother, Arron. The music from the film Free Willy played in the church.
His foster mum, May Allen, who had looked after him since he was one, said farewell with a floral display spelling out his name.
Relatives and friends also sent bouquets and messages, saying William was a brave boy who never complained and would be sorely missed.
Among them were a floral football and Manchester United shirt.
William attended Blackamoor School, Blackburn, and was a big soccer fan who also liked the Spice Girls and Michael Jackson.
Nurses from Derian House were among the mourners and donations were being sent to the hospice.
