ALLOW me a few words in praise of the NHS which suffers, I think, often unfair criticism in your letters pages.
Following one week in intensive care and five weeks' stay on Ward 5 at Blackburn Infirmary, I cannot begin to express my gratitude to all staff of every department, from doctors through to domestics, who catered to my every need.
My treatment, day and night, was excellent and performed, on the whole, by a delightful group of professional people. What more can one ask?
Instead of carping over trivial matters, it behoves us all to be eternally grateful to these dedicated few, in whose hands our lives can be placed with complete confidence. Thank you again.
E COSTELLO, Carlinghurst Road, Blackburn.
