FIVE members of the Youth Committee of the newly formed Bedford Village Venture in Leigh took part in a 10 mile sponsored walk and raised £126 for equipment.
The five - Daniel Kenyon, Stefanie Beaumont, Faye Edwards, Robert McLanachan and Frank Kenyon - walked a route from Bedford to Astley, Tyldesley Atherton and back to Leigh, after an official start by local councillor Keith Cunliffe.
The organisation was formed in April to provide a haven for young people between 10 and 17 years of age and meets in St Joseph's Parish Hall. To date the club has 22 members and around 14 volunteers.
Spokesperson Lynne Kenyon, a founder member, said: "We would like to thank everyone in Bedford for their support and kind-hearted people along the route who chose to donate.
"We would also like to thank Father Austin of St Joseph's for his offer of the hall, Annabelle Jardine of County Palatine, the council's Youth Services, Angela Cameron of Community Social Services and volunteers, adults and young people, for giving their time and efforts, with special thanks to Carol Isherwood the local Home Watch Co-ordinator for her help."
