SUSAN FOX has been appointed the new president of Hyndburn Chamber of Trade - and has put increasing the spotlight on local traders top of her priority list.
Mrs Fox, who runs the Fent Shop haberdashery on Whalley Road, Accrington, believes that shopping in Hyndburn is in good shape but wants to see it get better.
She said: "My main aim as president is to get more people into Hyndburn, see shopping facilities improved and increase the membership of the chamber of trade." The mother of three, who has five grandchildren, paid tribute to outgoing president Brian Hodgeson who has had retired through bad health.
She added: "Brian has done a wonderful job over the past two years and I just want to carry on the strong foundations he has laid. I have been vice-chairman during that time so I have picked up some useful tips along the way."
