LAUNCHED today is a £25million appeal by the famous Christie Hospital in Manchester to develop "star wars" technology that could, in the future, mean patients being treated and cured of cancer in just one day.
It is an amazing, but believable dream, says the hospital chairman John Lee.
The countless thousands of people who have been helped by the Christie Hospital - the largest cancer research and treatment centre in Europe - know of its role at the forefront of the fight against this killer disease and of the numerous advances it has already made.
This "star wars" dream will, then, be one shared by millions in the North West - with hope and, we are sure, massive generosity.
