GLAZEBURY crashed to a nine-wicket defeat by Moorfield. Only Peter Calvert, who hit 42, offered much resistance as they were tumbled out for an inadequate 86 in their North West Counties League match-up.
The bowling of Carl Fitzgerald (5-20) and Tony Harrison (3-9) was far too effective.
The Widnes side hammered their way to victory at 87-1 with thanks to Brian Tobin 50 and Neil Maher 31.
Westleigh beat Shell with some comfort, scoring 190 (G Pendleton 43, L Sykes 44), their rivals managing a mere 95 (L Sykes 5-20, M Sykes 3-10).
Bickershaw 140-9 (A Robinson 32, M Lindsey 23) beat Vulcan 53 (D Hughes 6-26, M Hardman 3-25).
But Joy Mining earned a winning draw at Culcheth, despite being dismissed for 96 (A Astley 4-14). They then had the home side hanging on at 70-7 at the close, Paul Mather taking 3-22.
In Division Two Glazebury 2nd went down to Moorfield. They posted 131-7 in 47 overs, skipper Roger Davenport hitting 52, Graham Greensmith 39 not out and Stuart Caller 20.
But Moorfield (133-0) raced in by 10 wickets - Glazebury trying seven bowlers to dislodge the opening pair.
Westleigh 2nd demolished Shell by 105 runs, Carl Farrimond hammering a brilliant unbeaten 74 and B Blood retired hurt at 68 in a total of 183-1.
Bickershaw 66 beat Vulcan 39 (S Boydell 6-22, J Pearson 3-16).
