A LOWTON bus stop struggle has resulted in compromise.
Pocket Nook Lane bus users wanted a replacement stop as near to the Newton Road junction as possible when their old stop was abolished for road safety reasons.
And Village Club stop users didn't want to lose theirs. When a new stage was set outside Lowton Motors, Old Newton Road residents complained about traffic congestion. Highways and transport experts met residents, Police and local councillors before finalising stops.
Cllr Brian Jarvis explained:"The Village Club bus stop will remain in use but the new one outside Lowton Motors will be for alighting only.
"Sometimes we get criticised from all quarters but we have to compromise and try to suit all. If there are any problems the situation will be reviewed."
