LOTTERY chiefs have boosted the popular prizes in the Wigan and Leigh Hospice prize fund.
Their moves come in the week when national Camelot Lottery cash pay-outs have been made to charities working outside this country.
The new Hospice being built at Hindley has been refused cash from the National Lottery Charities Distribution Board.
And local appeals organiser John Fellowes said: "People I have spoken to are becoming increasingly concerned as to where the national lottery money is going.
"Now it's going abroad, I think it's time for a re-think!"
Hospice Lottery bosses are ploughing more prize money into the kitty because more people are joining the local Lottery.
"It's a promise we made at the beginning: as the number of Lottery supporters increase we would increase the number of prizes."
An extra £250 weekly second prize has been introduced from Friday, plus the £10 prizes are boosted to 10 a week.
