SOUTH Lancashire Euro MP Mike Hindley has called for Labour to deliver on its promises and to make further radical changes over the next few years.
In a speech to Labour activists at Earcroft, Darwen, he outlined a number of policies which he expected a Labour Government to take further when the time was right.
Coun Simon Danczuk, who organised the event which was attended by around 20 party members, said: "I have no doubt that the Labour Government will deliver on a minimum wage, the Social Chapter, reforming the House of Lords, and on negotiating a single currency.
"However, as a party we also need to make sure the minimum wage is the same in every region and is linked to increases in other people's pay increases.
"We also need to ensure that the Social Chapter delivers more than just works councils and actually has a positive effect on working peoples lives.
"As for the House of Lords we need to move further than just getting rid of hereditary peers and need to consider the possibility of a second elected chamber."
