AN ambitious youth rugby league club has taken a significant step towards its dream of having a purpose-built home.
West Craven Warriors RL are currently based at West Craven High School, Barnoldswick, but the club has quickly grown out of the temporary arrangement and earlier this year started searching for a new, permanent headquarters.
After lengthy negotiations with Pendle Council, officials managed to earmark a piece of council-owned land in Cemetery Road, Earby.
Now the club has submitted a planning application to the council for permission to form a pitch and training area with floodlighting.
It also wants to erect a perimeter fence and changing rooms.
The plan will go before West Craven councillors in July.
