I WAS amazed to read (LET, May 15) that Mr Duncan Johnson was forced to remove his A-board from outside his shop by Hyndburn Council because somebody complained. However, I have been complaining to Blackburn Council for some time about shops on Whalley Range displaying fruit and vegetables on the pavement, reducing pavement space by half.
Why, oh why, has nothing ever been done about these shops? Blackburn Council should take action and clear the pavements on Whalley Range before somebody is seriously hurt or even killed through being forced to walk in the road.
M DAREZ, Millham Street, Blackburn.
