BURNLEY are closing in on four transfer targets.
And I can reveal tonight that manager Adrian Heath is tracking:
A Second Division full back
A Premiership International striker
A Division One midfielder
A First Division central defender.
Heath revealed to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "I'm 45 per cent further on down the line than I was last week.
"I've had fruitful discussions with three players and their agents.
"In my own mind I know how much it will cost me to bring these players in.
"I'm quite optimistic that I might be able to get something sorted out before I leave for holiday in the middle of June."
Heath knows a number one priority is a replacement for right back Gary Parkinson.
Burnley need to fill that berth after Parkinson's recent move to Lancashire rivals Preston North End.
Parkinson's fee will be decided by a transfer tribunal in July.
Heath added: "I've made good progress with the right full-back.
"He plays in Division Two and is a good operator.
"I should know more about him next week."
Heath also met up with a midfield target and his agent last night and reported "excellent progress."
"We've made in-roads and he is keen to join us.
"He has a couple of other clubs interested, but I'm confident that we can get our man.
"The central defender is from the First Division and I'm still working on bringing my Premiership international target here.
"I should know more when the player involved returns from holiday in the next 10 days.
"I'm not in a position to reveal any names yet, but I'd just ask our fans to be patient.
"There will be new faces coming in before the start of next season.
"I will keep working and pursuing until I get the players I want to make us a better squad."
Meanwhile, Burnley have switched the dates of two of their Northern Ireland pre-season fixtures.
Burnley will now play Glenavon in Lurgan, near Portadown, on Thursday, July 24.
The fixture against Linfield will go ahead on Tuesday, July 22 at Windsor Park, Belfast.
The full itinerary is: Saturday, July 19, Crusdaders (Belfast), 22, Linfield, 24 Glenavon, 26, Glentoran (Belfast).
