STAR comedy impressionist Rory Bremner will top the bill at a glittering fundraising event for the Blackburn Cathedral Lantern Tower Appeal.
He will entertain 250 people at the cathedral's Lantern Summer Ball at Hoghton Tower on June 26.
The event is expected to significantly boost the £750,000 appeal to give the cathedral's present lantern tower a facelift.
Appeal director Penelope Worsley said: "We are delighted and excited with what promises to be a very special occasion.''
There will also be music from The Chance Band from London and an auction.
Bids will be taken for a range of items and trips, including a golfing break at the Forest of Arden, a champagne day for six at the races, an evening with Opera North, driven duck shooting at Hoghton Tower and pheasant shooting in West Lancashire, a holiday for four in Ireland and two watches.
Tickets cost £100 per person, with tables of 10 available, and include a champagne reception in the grand hall, dinner, dancing and table wines.
Anyone interested should contact the Appeal Office at Blackburn Cathedral on 01254 689689 as soon as possible.
