BLACKBURN Rovers were today staying tight-lipped over a reported £6 million bid for Graeme Le Saux from Italian champions Juventus.

Reports from Italy say the unsettled England international is high on the Juventus hit-list and the European Cup finalists are reported to have made Le Saux one of their number one targets.

Juventus had a scout in Katowice where Le Saux played a major role in England's World Cup qualifier win over Poland at the weekend.

And that means that Juve could follow up their interest in the 28-year-old defender.

Rovers chairman Rob Coar would not be drawn on any reported bid for Le Saux.

Le Saux has hinted that he is considering his future at Ewood Park and was recently linked with a move to Premiership rivals Arsenal. But new manager Roy Hodgson has already stressed that he does not want to sell of any of his big names until he has had the chance to assess his squad when he arrives at Brockhall in the first week of July.

And it would be unlikely that Hodgson would allow Le Saux to leave with Hodgson ready to invest heavily in new players in a bid to make Rovers a Premiership power again.

Meanwhile, Kevin Gallacher was substituted in the second half of Scotland's 3-2 friendly win over Malta as the Scots prepare their next Sunday's vital World Cup qualifier in Belarus.

Gallacher also struck the woodwork in an unconvincing win for the Scots. Scotland boss Craig Brown is already without defender Colin Hendry, ruled out following groin surgery last month.
