REGARDING the men who were shot for alleged cowardice in the unimaginable hell of the First World War, your Opinion (LET, May 28) said it all.
It is to the shame of the government under John Major that he opposed the efforts of MPs Andrew McKinley and Greg Pope to obtain a pardon for these young soldiers.
Now that, at long last, we have a true government of the people, we have hope to see a reversal of the monstrous mistake, and the names of these young soldiers added to the Roll of Honour of our war dead - where they belong.
