A DECISION on a £500,000 hotel plan near a chemical works was blocked after health and safety officials objected.
A property developer wanted to turn a derelict canal warehouse in Church into a hotel and conference centre. But the Health and Safety Executive told Hyndburn councillors that visitors would be at risk as the hotel would be near William Blythe's chemical works.
