DISGRACED ex-bishop Roderick Wright and his lover have set up home in Carnforth in a bid to escape the media hounds.

The former Catholic Bishop of Argyll and the Isles, who fathered a child before running off with a divorced mother of three, is now living in a small three bedroom house on the Crag Bank estate.

The couple first lived together in Kendal and it is believed they moved into North Lancashire several weeks ago. According to a report in the Times newspaper Mr Wright's lover Kathy MacPhee, 41, works as a supply nurse at a local hospital - although staff have been told to deny that she is employed there.

It also says the couple hope to make Carnforth their permanent home.

The disclosure of the high profile bishop's affair last September, sent shock waves rippling through the Catholic Church.
