A TEENAGER indecently assaulted a woman in her thirties as she was returning home from a night out in the early hours.
The woman was walking alone down Glebe Street, Great Harwood, just before 1am on Saturday when the boy, who was Asian and about 14, approached her and asked for some money. He put his hand up her skirt and touched her leg before fleeing.
She was not injured but was said to be very frightened.
The woman, who had been out with friends, was expecting to meet her husband in town but they had missed each other.
Her husband said: "She was very shaken and upset. We called the police immediately."
Police in Great Harwood are appealing for witnesses and are asking people who may have seen the boy to contact them on either 01254 884800 or 382141.
The boy was between 5ft 2in and 5ft 4in tall with dark hair below his ears and was wearing dark clothing.
