A TEACHER who spent three years on the dole has set up a new business just two weeks after joining a job club!
And 49-year-old David Howarth from Fulwood is now proud to show off two new executive toys he never thought he would have - a mobile phone and pager!
David, a former nurse who worked for Preston Heath Authority for 28 years before being made redundant, now proudly runs Independent Lecturing Services.
He said: "I'm still on cloud nine. I can't believed it's all happened so quickly.
"I've wanted to do this for a few years but I got no help whatsoever. It's amazing, what I've wanted to do for three years has happened in two weeks."
During his time out of work David helped teach Health and Safety classes to sea cadets as well as students at UCLa and Preston College.
He is now available to teach using his experience - and already has several clients in the pipeline.
David, of Sharoe Green Lane, puts his success down to Preston's YMCA job club on St Mary's Street, whic.h helps unemployed blue and white collar workers.
