WHILE the album only captures a fraction of that emotionally-charged day at Anfield when top bands queued up to help raise money for the families of the Hillsborough disaster victims, You'll Never Walk Alone is a worthy addition to any music collection.
Ninety six soccer fans died in April 1989 at the Liverpool and Nottingham Forest FA Cup semi-final, but they will never be forgotten, and this CD is a fitting tribute to them.
Released just 23 days after the Hillsborough Justice Concert, the superb live album includes tracks from The Lightning Seeds, The Beautiful South, Manic Street Preachers, Dodgy and Space. There's also the real piece de resistance, Holly Johnson's magnificent rendition of Ferry 'Cross The Mersey.
Understandably, the album's finale is a moving version of You'll Never Walk Alone but it also includes Hillsborough Family Support Group chairman Trevor Hicks' spirited speech for justice as the battle goes on for fresh legal action.
All profits from the album will go to The Hillsborough Family Support Group - to further fund their campaign for a right and true verdict. The CD is available from all good record stores and it's a cracker.
