BLACKBURN Rovers will want at least £2 million for want-away keeper Shay Given who looks likely to be the latest player to join the Ewood Park exodus to Newcastle United.
While no deal has yet to be finalised with the St James Park side, it looks odds on that the out-of-contract keeper will team up again with Kenny Dalglish, Alan Shearer and David Batty.
But Tony Parkes has warned that the highly-rated stopper will not be allowed to go at a knockdown price, and that the club is prepared to go to a transfer tribunal if the price isn't right.
Parkes said: "Shay has not signed for Newcastle United or any other club yet, but it does seem his future is away from Ewood Park. On that count it is out of our hands. But we will be looking for a least £2 million from his sale and if not we will take it to a tribunal."
The imminent departure of the Republic of Ireland international means that the club will now need experienced cover for Tim Flowers - as well as a striker which is already top of their priority list.
Parkes added: "I have already discussed the matter with Roy Hodgson when we had a lengthy chat on Friday and let's just say we have a few irons in the fire. We will be looking to bring in some new players but at present it is a bit quiet as a lot of players are away on holidays - but expect to see some activities in a few weeks time."
Those activities should coincide with the arrival of Hodgson who is set to walk into Ewood Park on July 1. He is currently in France watching Le Tournoi featuring France, England, Brazil and Italy.
Meanwhile Rovers' walking wounded are on the way back with Chris Sutton returning from a successful stint at Lilleshall where he has undergone treatment for a hamstring injury. And defender Chris Coleman is back in training after six months out of the game with a ruptured achilles tendon.
