BURGLARS netted £8,000 worth of jewellery after a lunchtime raid yesterday on an isolated house in the Ribble Valley.
The burglary took place in Whins Lane, Simonstone, between 11.20am and 1.50pm.
The thieves climbed on the garage roof and forced open an upstairs window before ransacking the master bedroom and making off with the items.
Stolen were a Deville Omega 18 ct gold watch, valued at £7,000, and an assortment of earrings and gold chains, valued at £1,000.
Clitheroe police are warning rural residents to be extra vigilant during the day.
They would also like to speak to anyone with information about yesterday's incident.
