ATHERTON is at the centre of the summer's managerial merry-go-round.
Already Dave Morris has gone from Crilly Park.
And, following on the exit from Atherton LR, comes a double shock at Atherton Colls with the resignation of joint bosses Steve Walton and Ian Lamb.
The successful management partnership took Colls into the North West Counties League Division One last season and masterminded victories over 12 higher-league clubs in the Cup.
Lamb resigned his position at Alder House to take up a new appointment as assistant manager to Alan Lord at Salford City, the club rescued from relegation to the NWCL Division Two by the League Management Committee's decision to demote Bootle on ground grading criteria.
Lord is another former Colls first team boss who has since been in charge at Cheadle Town and Warrington Town.
Walton has followed his partner's example in resigning from Colls.
The position will be advertised.
And the non-league spotlight will be focused on Atherton for the next few weeks with both LR and Colls now in the market.
